IGEM Conference
About The Event
Carbon Monoxide - Research into action

Learn how we are shaping the future safety of the UK

This essential conference will look at the current research into carbon monoxide and what actions we can take to prevent the 40 tragic deaths that occur due to CO poisoning annually.

This free event is particularly relevant for fire safety chiefs, medical professionals, scientists, community workers, housing groups and gas distribution network bosses.

Supported by Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, Wales & West Utilities and the Gas Safety Trust, it will provide a forum for diverse organisations to work in partnership and is designed to meet the needs of every industry involved in the safe utilisation of fuels.

Speakers include:

• Isabella Myers, Independent Consultant and Chair, APPCOG COMED & Air Pollution and Climate Change Group, Health Protection Agency presenting on Indoor Air Quality
• Roland Wessling, Research Fellow, Cranfield University and Advisory Board Member, APPCOG speaking about the CO+ impact project
• Dr Clive Shrubsole, Senior Research Associate, University College London discussing British housing stock modelling
• Abbie Sampson, Director of External Affairs, Energy UK, speaking on CO Be Alarmed!
• Owen Wilson, Networks Safety Manager, Gas Networks Ireland explaining CO campaigning in Ireland
• Rob Lyon, Campaign Director, Project SHOUT talking about Project SHOUT, the National Campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning
