IGEM conference
About The Event
Carbon Monoxide - Research to recovery

Learn how we are ensuring the future safety of the UK

This essential conference will look at the current research into carbon monoxide (CO) and what actions we can take to prevent the 40 tragic deaths that occur annually due to CO poisoning.

In particular the conference will focus on the latest research from victims of CO poisoning and the lessons we can learn from this to help us all fight this silent killer.

This free event is particularly relevant for fire safety chiefs, medical professionals, scientists, community workers, housing groups and gas distribution network bosses.

Supported by Cadent, SGN and Wales & West Utilities, it will provide a forum for diverse organisations to work in partnership and is designed to meet the needs of every industry involved in the safe utilisation of fuels.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Georgina Bailey, Manager, Carbon Monoxide Safety Policy, Policy Connect
  • Julie Connolly, Senior Lecturer, Liverpool John Moores University
  • Dr Clare Mills, Public Affairs Manager, Headway
  • Peter Smith, Policy and Research Director, National Energy Action
  • Prof Andy Shaw, Liverpool John Moores University
  • Dr Robert Dickinson, Senior Lecturer in Anaesthetics, Imperial College
  • Chris Bielby, Chair, Gas Safety Trust
  • Adrian McConnell, Trust Manager, Gas Safety Trust

Also find out the latest updates from the All Party Parliamentary CO Group and their work with government to raise awareness of the latest issues and policy changes.

Book your free place and help us to coordinate the industry's approach to this silent killer.
