Introduction to IGEM/G/11 - Unsafe situations procedure

The Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure (GIUSP) provides guidance to trained competent operatives on how to deal with various situations which currently, or may in the future affect safety.

IGEM has taken ownership of GIUSP which is now also known as IGEM/G/11.

Course objectives

This training course is designed to give you an overview of what is in involved in identifying, recording and reporting any unsafe situations you may come across as part of your role as a gas engineer.

Course content

The training will cover all aspects of the procedure to ensure compliance with your legal responsibilities to identify Immediately Dangerous and At Risk installations.

All attendees will receive a copy of The Gas Safety Book Edition 8 as part of the course material.

Who should attend

With updates to the visual risk assessment process, this training is vital for gas safe registered engineers.

About the trainer

Paul O’Driscoll EngTech MIGEM who is a technical specialist with a comprehensive understanding of the domestic gas and oil industry along with substantial technical and mechanical experience. Paul has worked for The AA and HomeServe as a Quality Assurance Engineer and is now an independent consultant.
