About The Event
Introduction to IGEM/GL/5
This course will highlight the fundamentals underpinning the safe management of new works, modifications and repairs to gas plant and natural gas systems.
IGEM/GL/5 Edition 3 is a minimum standard of documented procedures for managing new works, modifications and repairs to any plant or system associated with the supply of fuel gas where legislation such as the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) apply.
Aims and objectives
•Delegates will gain an understanding of documented procedures
•Delegates will gain an understanding of the roles of user/asset owner/asset manager, competent initiator, design approver and design appraiser
•Delegates will gain an understanding of the underpinning legislation
•Delegates will be able to liaise with different users/asset owners/asset managers using common terminology
•Overview of process
•Introduction to risk appraisal
•Business Information Modelling (BIM)
•Application downstream of the Emergency Control Valve (ECV)
•SGN approach to model (standard designs)
•Concrete bases and small diameter IP services for Independent Gas Transporters (IGTs)
Who should attend?
Individuals managing or responsible for plant or systems associated with the supply and utilisation of natural gas, especially where pressure vessels are involved.
Including but not restricted to, operatives, managers and supervisors from the following areas:
Operations; HSE; compliance; plant; system and network design; maintenance and repair; plant and system modification.
