A North West Section and Yorkshire Gas Association event
About The Event
River Humber Gas Pipeline Replacement Project

The River Humber pipeline is an important pipeline - connecting an import location for gas at Easington, on the East Yorkshire coast, to the national network – delivering gas supplies to millions of customers throughout the UK.

The existing pipeline crossing lies in the bed of the river and is at risk of being exposed by the strong tidal currents. National Grid’s long term solution involves building a segmental tunnel, 35m under the river and inserting a 4.85km pipeline inside.

Phil Croft, Senior Project Manager for Capital Delivery at National Grid, will deliver the evening's presentation. This will detail the engineering and logistical challenges that are being overcome to deliver this vital project for the security of the UK’s gas supplies.

This event is hosted by the IGEM North West Section and the Yorkshire Gas Association.

A light buffet will be available from 17:00 with the presentation starting at 18:00.
