Technical visit: National Grid Pipelines Maintenance Centre (PMC)

Discover the history of National Grid's Pipelines Maintenance Centre, commonly known as PMC, and see their large portfolio of skills and experience that places them as the leaders in emergency and planned solutions in the field of pipeline repair, replacement, maintenance and intervention.

Here you’ll have a chance to view their innovations, processes and workshop on an action packed afternoon tour.

  • Introduction to PMC 
  • History, background, operational activities, customer led innovation

 

14:30-16:00 Tour

  • Workshop Innovation 
  • Mini Grouted T 
  • Sealant Plug Adaption 
  • Valve Care Tool Box 
  • Valve Cavity Flow Meter 

 

This time will also include a 'whistle stop' tour, where possible, of the other on site facilities, such as:

  • General Workshop 
  • Blast and Paint Facility
  • In line Inspection (Pigging) 
  • Fabrication Shop
  • Stopple Store (including 48" drilling and stopple equipment) 
  • CEME Emergency Stores (Largest Stores of Plidco repair clamps world wide) serving 10+ Oil and Gas Distribution and Transmission companies with 24/7 Emergency call out throughout the UK. 
  • 'Grave Yard' - Removed assets for R&D Purposes
