About The Event
The Challenges of the Smart Meter Roll-Out

The smart meter roll-out is part of a greater vision to connect businesses, eliminate inefficiencies and ultimately, make everything easier, cheaper and more seamless for energy providers and end-users.

However, for every smart meter installed, a meter must be removed and processed in accordance with complex and stringent regulations.

This means organisations need to have the infrastructure, systems and equipment needed to facilitate the roll-out effectively.

At this technical evening Tim Houtby, Commercial Director at Meter Provida, will discuss:

  • the risks, responsibilities and opportunities associated with the roll-out
  • the removal and processing of redundant meters
  • opportunities for businesses to generate funds from redundant meters via the resale of assets to foreign markets
  • why the smart meter roll-out is more than a compliance burden
  • benefits of a compliant and well-managed roll-out
  • consequences of poorly planned meter reverse logistics
  • how companies can implement the process internally and the outsourcing opportunities that are available

A buffet will be provided from 17:00, with thanks to the event's sponsor Energetics. The presentation will begin at 18:00.
